Tali nodded interested as he talked, encouraging him to continue. Though it sounded very exciting traveling like that, she couldn’t imagine doing it herself, not as a child at least. She had been quite happy staying at one place throughout her childhood and early adult life. How anyone could keep any friends traveling like that was beyond her. The later-life experience he talked about was a completely different matter though. Had she only had knowledge like that, she properly wouldn’t have ended up washing dishes when she first got to the planet.
”An inventor?” she said with a surprised smile. She’d never met one of those before. ”So which of your inventions brought you here?” she asked putting the glass down and giving him her full attention. She knew her way around a gun, but she’d never had anything even remotely new between her hands. Mostly she had handled one that was older than herself and Fergus combined… and then some.

He looked at her was it her or the drink, he was on the verge of saying some things which he shouldn't tell the first random bartender he met. He might not be the heaviest drinker in the universe, but he wasn't this weak was he to get drunk from one drink. No that wasn't it, had she slipped something in his drink or food. No that wasn't it either he didn't feel drunk or dizzy. Really he just felt at ease, might be the effect of Q'siks. Or just this person or just the fact that he was sitting inside listening to the rain while eating and talking. It reminded him of evenings with Mayire, sitting in her room cudling while watching the rain. It was peaceful back then. He shook his head and sunk the mouthful he had been chewing on. His gaze returning to Tali from just stearing at the empty air. "It was not that much of an invention more like a delivery of an order to a long time customer and friend" he waved dismissively with his hand, although he took great pride in his work he had a slight tendency to be overly critical of his own work. He had almost never experienced a disapointed customer. This time had not been different. "And i do not want to bore you with long technical details of the weapon fair misus" although he had no intentions of being rude he clearly did not expect an bartender to be interested in weapons or know that much about them for that matter. And he figured that she was just trying to be polite.

Tali smiles ”How nice of you” she commented. There weren’t many people left in the world who delivered their wares themselves. Not with the extended postal service that had only grown better over the years. Even Vetusolum got mail on a regular basis!
As Fergus dismissed Tali, she wasn’t offended really, but she couldn’t completely hide her disappointment and a bit shun through her smile ”Well, I properly wouldn’t understand much of all the technical mumbo jumpo anyways!” she said with a light laugh, before she made an excusive gesture and went to check on the other customers. Some of them had been trying to get her attention for a while, but she had kind a ignored them, to listen to Fergus, him being by far the most interesting company she had had all day. Besides that, he actually seem like a really nice guy.

He looked at her with a slight smile "Well i guess so, one ought to get travel from time to time, have a change of scenery so that one does not grow roots" He smiled for a moment before he chukled "I might be a bit old to adhere to my mothers teachings, and a little young to be nostalgic about them too. But nevertheless i feel that it might be true that if you allways stay at your home, your life will become boring and you might lose the ability to cherish it as much" he finished his stew as she moved to service other customers. His stomach full he turned his head and looked at the rain for a moment. Waiting for Tali to return, he chuckled to himself a bit selfish of him. But on the other hand she probably would when she was done with the other customers. A quick glance around the bar. His clothes were quite simply of a higher quality, than the other people in here. He might be cleaner too. He simply hadn't inherited his parents ability to blend in. Still he was probably the wealthiest and most cultured person to visit this bar in a long time. He didn't overly display his wealth though. Didn't want to become a easy to spot target for criminals. He drumed a little with his fingers on the bar, could surely use a drink now.

Fergus’ words repeated themselves in Talis head as she moved from one costumer to the next. Most of them just wanted to pay and get on, since they had been at the bar for a while, and it still didn’t look like it was going to rain less anytime soon. When thinking about it, Tali hadn’t really been on the planet that long, only a few years. But was it already too much? Was she rooting? And even if she was, could she do anything to help it? She couldn’t really leave, not if he suddenly came back… But what if he was somewhere else, just waiting for her to come? Tali pushed the though aside. It was no use thinking about what could and what would happen, because she wouldn’t know until it was too late anyways. When she returned to Fergus, it was with a new drink. ”Warm and bitter, but with a soothing aftertaste. Perfect for a rainy day” she said with a smile and placed the glass before him and removed the dirty bowl and glass, taking it all with her out back. She had deliberately served him something less than optimal the first time because if he had already tried the best, what was there for him to stay for? A short while late Tali came back out with a tray of clean glasses. She placed it on the workspace behind the bar, and started polishing them and placing them where they needed to be.

Fergus took the drink circling the glass around in the air in front of him. He took a small sip "This one is very good indeed" he smiled, looked at other customers tightning their clothes before running out into the rain hoping they wouldn't get too soaked before arriving at their home or wherever they where going. He shook his head, he would prefere waiting the rain out. He had the time, if the rain hadn't stopped before the bar closed well then he had to take it from there, but right now he would prefere to see if he could wait the rain out. His gaze returned to Tali, "Tell me what is it like being a bartender? you like it? or is it more of a temporary job while you are saving up for something? hope you don't mind me asking" He had talked quite a bit about himself, now it was about time for her to return the favor

Tali looked up from her work with a grin, taking a moment to think. ”I like it very much in fact. You get to meet all kinds of people from all walks of life and see them at their best as well as their worst” she told him ”I’ve worked here for a few years, and I’ve never had too days that were quite the same” she added with something like pride. She liked her job, and enjoyed being there for the costumers whether they came for a drink, a listening ear or just a good time. ”But to be honest with you, I don’t really know” she said thoughtfully. ”It’s never been a dream of mine to become a bartender it just sort a happened, but it’s good money, descent hours and my boss is even nice too! Right now I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world” she said with a grin. *Almost anything at least* she added in her mind, but quickly pushed the thought away.

Fergus smiled "Its nice to have a job one likes, wouldn't be the right job for me though i dunno if the seeing people at their worst is a good thing by me" he paused for a second then he smiled and raised his glass "Cheers to having a job you love" he didn't really raise his voice, he didn't watch if any of the other guests cheered with him, didn't listen if they did. Didn't really care. He took a large sip from his drink before placing the glass gently on the table again. "Having a nice boss is a good thing to i recon, especially if the pay is right and the job is nice. It sounds like the perfect job for you i can understand why you wouldn't want to trade it for anything" He paused for a second before adding "It sounds a bit like my feelings for my occupation you know, although the reasons for those feelings might differ slightly" There wasn't a whole lot of customers in the bar by now as time went by and more people lost their patience or didn't have the time for the rain to stop

Tali smiled "As long as you like what you do it makes sense. Doing something you hate is just pointless and plane stupid" she commented with a slight laugh. She knew alot of people in the 'civilized' world didn't like their jobs, and she had never learned to understand why. Where she came from, people did what they liked, got good at it and found a way to live of it or died. Simple as that!
