Name/Alias: Ophelia Esmeralda Valentino, goes by Ophelia V
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Occupation: thief/pickpocket/pirate
Appearance: Ophelia is slender and short, appearing even younger than she actually is. Most people mistake her for a child at first glance because of her diminutive size. Her hands are small, with quick fingers, and she is very pale. Her hair is reddish-brown, long and wispy, constantly coming undone from its usual braid. Her eyes are very dark blue, almost gray, and she bears a perpetually surprised expression. She's usually dressed in some combination of blouse, vest, and long flowy skirt, and she's a bit of a magpie, collecting anything shiny that can be worn.
Personality: Ophelia is an unfailing optimist. She romanticizes piracy to a fault, longing for adventure at every turn. These traits combine to be somewhat irritating, if not dangerous, because her general philosophy is "what could possibly go wrong?", which, as every good genre-savvy space pirate knows, is the worst question to ever ask. She's a magnet for trouble, though her skills with a rapier are passable, so she can usually get herself out of whatever pickle she's gotten into. {Usually.} She's always smiling, perpetually cheerful, and usually pretty nice, which means she makes friends easily. She has a hard time keeping them, though, because of her disconcern for, well, everything. To the people who can stand her, she's loyal for life.
Background: Ophelia came from a wealthy family on Patria, living with her parents and an older brother. Her parents are, as far as she knows, still quite loyal to the government. Her brother, however, became disenchanted with the Council after an incident with a friend of his that disappeared under mysterious circumstances. He vanished soon after, heading for Sukilti in a rust-bucket of a ship. Following some sort of accident at Ophelia's home, about which she is quite loath to speak, she decided to head to Sukilti to find her brother. She managed to barter passage aboard a "merchant" ship of questionable integrity, where she worked as a deckhand for several months before arriving at her destination. Once safely on Sukilti, she realized she had no idea where to even begin to look, and headed towards the nearest semblance of civilization in the vain hope that it would at least be a start. She got a job as a seamstress, but found that picking pockets was, though more dangerous, also more profitable, and so turned to that. It's been a year and there's no sign of her brother, but Ophelia's not giving up until she finds him, alive or dead.
Kin/Companions: None
Other Information: Plays the flute, but is not as good at it as she thinks she is
{I hope this is long enough? If not, I can certainly add more...}
