Name/Alias: Alister Illiet-Büde, often shortened to Al.
Race Mivra
Age: 31
Gender: Male
Occupation: Tarquin's Personal Bodyguard
Appearance:
For a Mivra, Al is very tall, standing exactly 4'5''. His fur is as obsidian black as his horn, which ironically is rather short for his size. His short fur is, if you examine it very closely, a very vague brown shade of black, which means that even though it's almost impossible to see the difference, one might still see his Mane as a different colour of black as it is a more blue-ish shade. The only exception to this jet-black coat are a few places where Alister is a greyish white. The tufts at the end of his ears are white-ish and the digits of his paws are as well. Lastly the tip of his short tail is white as well.
His muzzle as well as his jaw are a square shape making him seem even more gruff than he already does.
As with any Mivrae his eyes are a deep golden amber which is another contrast to his black fur.
Alister does his best to stay in shape, and while most people of other races wouldn't notice, he's actually a bit bulky for his race.
When it comes to clothing, Alister prefers not to wear any as they hinder his movements. This doesn't mean he's always naked, in fact he's often dressed in either a suit, when at work, or a tank top and a pair of loose shorts, when relaxed.
While most Mivrae have a tendency to look mean to other races, Alister is often scowling or outright glaring, a habit he has adopted as part of his job.
Alister takes great pride in his looks and as such his Claws are always in a tip top shape, often sharpened so that they can be of better use.
The most important part of his looks is of course his mane, something every Mivrae takes pride in. Alisters mane is kept in pristine condition, always smooth and often shiny.
If he allowed it to hang lose it would almost reach the ground below him, but most of the time it has been styled into several warrior braids, often with a big center braid with smaller ones surrounding it in a net-like pattern. Alister also takes to getting bright blue and silver beads woven into his hair when it is styled, and these beads, aside from his eyes, are often the only splash of colour he wears aside from the regular black white and grey.
On his left wrist Alister always sports a black wrist watch that doubles as a communicator.
Personality:
Alister is not much of a talker, in fact it's not unusual for him to go days without uttering more of a few grunts now and then. This does not mean he has nothing to say or no opinion on the matter, he just prefers keeping it to himself and saving words for when it's necessary. While he is quiet, his head is often abuzz with thoughts, analyzing the situation or providing a sarcastic commentary to his otherwise event-less everyday life.
Like most Mivrae, Alister isn't very patient, and while he has taught himself to wait as a part of his job, it will often annoy him to no end if his client is slow or simply dull. As a result Alister is often quite grumpy or irritable, though he often keeps his frustrations to himself. Alister is less impulsive than most of his species, though this too is something he had to be taught rather than something that came natural. He has learned to think about the consequences and think ahead, simply because he had to.
Alister is a confident person, especially when it comes to his physical prowess, and if there's an opertunity to get into a brawl with little to no consequences it's very rare for him to decline. On the other hand, while he is no amateur with a gun, he gets little pleasure from winning a battle with a gun. To him, it's not even a real battle when the battle is fought with ranged weapons, and he would much rather get in close and rip his opponent to shreds.
Similar to how he has no patience in general, Alister has even less patience for stupid people, and he especially hate people who are not true to themselves or people who just sit around feeling sorry for themselves.
While Alister is an honest person, often brutally so, he's not particularly hateful towards those who lie a lot, as long as they at least are aware that they're liars and don't lie to themselves to stay away from Reality.
Alister judges people very individually, but once he has passed judgment he is often very reluctant to change his opinion of someone.
Alister is quite pessimistic, though he prefers to call himself a realist, but he still knows how to have a good time, and to those he deems worthy he has a very open mind.
He also doesn't believe in black and white morality instead insisting that everything except maybe his fur, is a shade of grey.
Background:
Who was Alisters mother, no-one knew as was the tradition for Mivra. Alister was placed in care of one of the elderly Mivrae together with a bunch of other kids so that they could be raised together.
Already from the beginning Alister was bigger and seemed stronger than the other kids of the litter and as a result he was frequently challenged to more or less serious fights by them. Al was always a quiet one, and he was also the only black cub of his litter. These two things ment that while he was moderately accepted, the other kids always treated him as a bit of an outsider, he simply wasn't very close to any of them.
As was normal, the cubs were incredibly curious and impulsive, and before they were very old, they had already formed a gang of sorts. The oldest cub was the leader and Alister quickly found himself as the big guy in the group, the one who stepped in when the other members were in trouble in order to solve things with his paws.
While it was not the most glorious position, Al quite liked his role, both because it meant he was included in the group, but also because it meant the other kids relied on him, a feeling he liked.
As the kids grew into adolescence their activities became more and more illegal. They rarely, if ever, showed up to school, instead opting to rob random people who ventured into the alleys near their home.
The elder was of course opposed to this, but none of the cubs seemed to care. They couldn't get a job and it was easy money. As long as the victims didn't resist no one was hurt, which was fine with Alister, after all it was his job to step in if they did.
Things of course couldn't stay as 'idyllic' forever, and while the gang grew into their twenties, another gang rose to power nearby, causing pleanty of conflict between the two groups.
This was the first time Alister saw any kind of battle. The police rarely bothered to come check as the robberies were so minor, but this new gang were keen on taking over the whole neighbourhood, something that required them to take out their rivals.
For quite a while the two groups were equal. The new group were superior in numbers, but Alister's group were older and stronger. This did however all end when a member of the opposing group decided to destroy the balance, he got a gun.
That day, when the two groups met at yet another skirmish, changed Alisters life for the better, though it would take a while for him to realize it.
The skirmish was short and bloody. It started as usual with the gang-leaders taunting each other, but then it quickly went wrong. The leader of Alister's gang was shot in the head in the midst of a particularly nasty taunt.
Unused to this type of combat the gang simply rushed forwards to attack the killer, which got them all killed. By a stroke of luck Alister had been shocked by the weapon and had, instinctively stayed back simply because of surprise. When he saw his litter-mates brutally gunned down like they were nothing more than flies being swatted he was filled with anger, but more so than being angry, he was afraid. Alister fled for his life, for the first time ever feeling weak and insignificant.
For a while after the battle Alister was lost. His whole life he had known these people and he had followed whatever idea they had gotten. Now he was on his own, lost and confused and he felt sorry for himself.
For three whole weeks Alister simply stayed at home with the now very old Elder, whining and moaning about how weak and cowardly he was.
In the end the elder had enough and threw him out onto the street. Here a shocked Alister was told of. He was lectured on how feeling sorry for one self was simply giving up and allowing the world to hail down on you. He was taught of how stupid he had been for not taking control of his life and how much of an idiot he had been.
The elders harsh words stuck Alister like arrows, especially because he knew they were true. He learned that if you're weak you shouldn't sit and whine about it, but instead you should take control of your life and do something about that which bothers you.
After telling the young Alister off, the elder allowed him back in, on the condition that he would get his act together and study in order to get a proper job.
As a result Alister spent the next two years studying with the elder, catching up on all that which he should've know by that point already.
In the end the elder got Alister a job as a low level bodyguard, a job Alister Gladly took, as it made him feel like he had a purpose.
Time passed and Alister grew in the ranks within the agency he was employed with.
The job was hard and as time passed Alister became quite jaded, but he his efforts paid off, as in the end he was hired by the government to protect a prominent political figure, Tarquin Ny'yerees, a job Alister has had for 2 years by now.
Kin/Companions:
The elder that raised him has passed away, and Alister has made no effort to find any friends or mates.
Other Information:
Alister always carry on him a butterfly knife with which he plays when bored.
Despite his dislike of firearms, Alister also always carry a handgun (made for Mivrae so he can fire it).
He also carries a wristwatch that doubles as a communicator, it's primary function is to keep him in contact with his Client.
