Name/Alias: Tali’Narrah “Tali” Menekiir
Age: 26
Gender: Female
Species: Q’Sik
Occupation: Works at Chanda’s bar, Viva Da Rosa
Appearance:
Talis skin is a deep, alluring purple, only torn by a few small childhood scars. It is her eyes that make her ‘stand out in a crowd’. Despite her dark skin, her eyes have the colour of emeralds, a bright and clear green. She is average of height for a Q’Sik, making her stand abit taller than most human women. Her head-tails reached down to the lower of her back, though she most often carries them over her shoulders, and down her front to avoid squeezing them when leaning against walls or sitting down.
She has a smiling, welcoming face, but is very clearly a ‘no bullshit’ kind a woman and carries herself with confidence.
When not in her working clothes she tends to dress more for comfort, than appearance.
Personality:
Tali is, over all, a nice person. She is pretty stubborn though, and is very bad at accepting when there is something she can’t do.
Tali is, due to her upbringing, not as delicate as most of her kin, and is not afraid to get dirt under her nails, or do manual labour. In everyday life, she is rather boyish in her ways and humour, but when the occasion demands it, she does know how to be a proper lady.
Even though Tali seem like a very open person, she tends to not tell people more than they need to know. She has her secrets and certain subjects she tends to avoid, in particular the details of why she left her home. Even though she has kind a settled down with her job at Viva Da Rosa, she hasn’t stopped searching for the Q’sik who stole her heart so many years ago.
She enjoys singing while she works, and on certain occasions, she even takes the stage on the bar and gives a little performance.
Background:
“You think I owe you my story?” she said in disbelieve, but the sighed slightly. “I guess I owe you a lot… The least I could do is tell you my story” she admitted. She stared at a point beyond the four walls of the room a moment, before continuing.
“My childhood was nothing special, jet is was fare from ordinary. You see, I wasn’t raised amongst my own kind, but amongst humans, by humans. It was a small village, and I was the only alien there. Of course others came by from time to time, but non that stayed more than a month or so. There was even a female Q’Sik bounty hunter in town when I was found, and since my parents didn’t really know any other Q’Sik names, I were named after her. It caused me some trouble later on, but that’s a different story for a different night.
It was… strange growing up like that, being different and all. But as I grew older, it got easier. My appearance, which I found strange, others found exotic and alluring. I learned to see myself as they saw me, and since most of the other children my age were men, it sure came in handy from time to time! I was also a very competitive child. When the boys said I couldn’t do something, because I was a girl, I would rush home and trained like there was no tomorrow. It taught me quite a few tricks, and made me one hell of a spitter! Still, what I remember best was then the guys in their mid teens got their first guns. It was a dangerous area, and it were not uncommon for the men to carry weapons, but when I suddenly wanted one too, it made quite a fuss. I never did get one, but I stole my fathers when he slept, and snuck out in the middle of the night practicing! He never caught me in the act, or I would have been dead, but I’m pretty sure he suspected it… Especially when he saw me hand the guys asses to them at the shooting range.
Besides that, nothing interesting happened. At least not until…”
She paused for a moment.
*Not until HE came along. A man more intriguing than anyone I had ever seen before. He was a Q’sik like myself, but carried himself so very different, and when I approached him, he looked right through me, like I was nothing but air. Oh and how I wanted to be just that. To be the air he breathed, to be inside him if only for a brief moment.
How long it took to make him even acknowledges my existence. But I did it. I got his attention and, I believe, some of his affection. He was an arrogant bastard. But I still could not get him out of my head. But of course he didn’t stay for long, and when he left I was stupid enough to follow. I should have known he wouldn’t look out for me. I was just a silly girl. It didn’t take him long to lose me in the crowd of the first larger city.*
She shook her head slightly and smiled. No. There was much she could tell him about, but not him. Not jet.
“Not until I one day followed a stranger out of the village, and into the big city. I caught a ride, but from there I was on my own, without only a few coins in my pocket. I’m glad my mother raised me as she did, or I could have been in real trouble all on my own! But I didn’t fool around. Found myself a job as a dishwasher, of all things. I didn’t make much, but the owner was a nice guy and he let me sleep in the backroom. I didn’t stay for long though. I’d seen some, but I wanted more!” *I wanted to find him..* “I travelled around the planet, visited different places, until one day when I stepped in to Viva Da Rosa”
”And the rest you know. I guess it all turned out okay. Had I been wiser, I wouldn’t be here today!” She leaned back in her chair a bit “So, there you have it! My story. Now, about that raise…”
