Faeren and Tenzin stood amongst their fellow Cohorts, watching as the members all assembled and the meeting was officially called to order. They both listened intently as various subjects were discussed. Faeren fidgeted a little, and glanced at his brother. Tenzin nodded.
"'Scuse me, might I interrupt? I got some news," Faeren piped up, breaking through the remaining words of a debate over the Cohorts' ammunition supplies. The man who had been talking frowned at him, but everyone else perked up, seemingly more interested in what Faeren had to say.
"So, I was chatting with one of the local guards, right?" the young man began, "And he says he hears from up high that his division might get split 'cause the Federation's getting more control over the army forces here. Sounds like they're gonna be sending in a bunch o' new troops soon, to replace the city's own forces." Faeren paused, glancing around to see the reactions of those in the room.
"So I was thinking, maybe when this ship shows up, it'd be a good time for us to cause some trouble, right? Maybe we could infiltrate their forces, or wreck the ship, or blow somethin' up, or somethin'..." He looked around hopefully.

Finch, who was sat at the end of the table, with her legs crossed and propped up on the table, listened to Faeren and smirked. “Chatting with one of the local guards… I wonder why…” She watched him with interest as he mentioned the new troops. Infiltrating their forces did sound interesting, there must have been something in that base that was worth looking into. Failing that though, they could always blow something up. She smirked devilishly. Oh how she liked blowing things up, especially if it was paid for by the government.
Taking her feet off the table, she leaned forward and looked at Faeren. “Good idea. Tenzin, acquire us some uniforms… Usually there are some in the black market. We’ll use them to surprise the ship when it lands. We’ll take the rest of the uniform, and get rid of the new kids… Maybe to a mining colony or something. Do they even have those anymore? I dunno. Anywho. Faeren, you can take point in this, since it was your idea. I’ll deal with a distraction, so that we can make the most of this opportunity. We can steal the ship too, I know of a cave in the wilderness we can hide it in, I’ve been planning a new base out there for when we expand anyway. Might as well use an actual ship as a base. Everything is inside ready to be used, no need for building…” She stroked her chin as she spoke. “It seems I’ll have to reward you for giving us such an opportunity. If you can get this to work, Faeren, I’ll let you choose your reward from my warehouse. For those of you who think this unfair, you find us an opportunity such as this, and you too will choose your own reward.” She rose to her feet, and rolled her shoulders.

Faeren and Tenzin both listened carefully to what Finch had to say, and then both nodded simultaneously. "You got it, boss," Faeren responded, when the leader had finally finished speaking. He gave a lopsided grin.
Tenzin blinked, looking up at the ceiling as he thought over what had just been said. He gave another short nod, as if conforming to himself that he had everything in order. Faeren waited a moment, in the silence, and then said "Anything else?" He looked around the room. Everyone else was quiet. It seemed as if the meeting was over. Both twins looked to Finch again, awaiting her judgement.

“I believe that is all.” Finch walked around the table to go to her arsenal. She was silent as she came to a halt and smirked slowly. “There will be an extra reward for whoever can bring me their computers back to. I want them in working condition. There is information on their computers that we could use in the future. There may even be security codes on them. Of course they may change the codes, but they always forget to change one. That’s all we need.”
Finch opened the door and stepped half way through it. “Suit up, we move out in an hour and a half. Tenzin meet us where this ship is meant to land and we’ll set up an ambush.” With that she walked out, allowing the door to shut behind her as she went towards her room, expecting them to follow her out. She hated to admit it, but she was getting excited, this was just what they needed. Had she allowed her disguise to falter, she might have even giggled with glee. Instead, she’d remain as calm as possible, and head into her room, leaving the door open as she attached her weapons to the various holsters on her body.

Faeren and Tenzin both gave short nods, as did most of the rest of the Cohorts gathered in the room. They all headed off in different directions to complete whatever tasks were needed to prepare for such an operation. Faeren went about organizing teams of renegades and giving them instructions for the ambush. Most everyone knew the drill by now, they had done this several times before. Nothing nearly as big, as far as Faeren could remember, but they would manage.
Once the troops were assembled and up to date on the plan, they all had about a half an hour to suit up and arm themselves. There was a little flurry of activity around the base as the Cohorts prepared themselves, but they were all used to such spontaneous operations that everyone went through the actions swiftly and easily. In no time at all, the people of the rebellion stood ready and waiting to embark on yet another wild mission.
Faeren stood apart from the rest, waiting for Finch. He ran through again in his head everything he needed. Daggers, check. Small knife in his boot, check. Guns, check, check, and check. He had armed himself with light weapons, guessing that this would be more of a quiet, sneaky operation rather than a full on battle. They were aiming to cause as little commotion as possible, and so he had brought his silent gun, and his lightest knives. Quick and silent, infiltrate the enemy forces without being noticed, get them from behind before they even knew what was happening. Clean and simple. Hopefully.

There was a very calm atmosphere In Finch’s room, as she fixed all of her arsenal to herself. Knives, blades and pistols were slipped onto her and with a click the held in place. She never left her room without a blade hidden on her body, and today was no exception, under the chainmail sat a blade that was attached to a sheath that like all the others clicked into place in order to stop it from falling. It could be dragged out at any point, and would be used to kill anyone who had caught the drop on her. Not that it usually happened.
She didn’t even think of the upcoming mission’s possible failure. They were to succeed and rise higher to eventually become the most infamous gang in the galaxy. Her thoughts trailed to the government, and then onto the rebellion, and of one person in particular. “I wonder…” She muttered to herself, before fixing her clothes and stepping in front of the mirror. This was her, a man, or a woman in the form of a man, or- it was confusing to her. She stared at herself, trying to see some remnant of her womanhood. She didn’t see anything, was she that much of a liar that she could even fool herself? Or maybe she had found her heaven. Dressing as a woman felt awkward now, almost like that was her mask and this was the real her. A man called Finch, a leader, a scoundrel and a villain; She looked at herself with pride, before turning to the door and stepping out into the hall.

Faeren straightened up as Finch made her appearance. Everyone else who had been waiting followed his lead, looking alert and ready as their leader entered. "Alright, all set? Let's move out." Faeren turned to lead the way down the hall to the back entrance of the building. They left in small groups, heading off in different directions. Part of how the Zakra Cohorts had been so successful thus far was their ability to be extremely inconspicuous. All of the members had perfected the art of blending in with the rest of the population of their city, and therefor knowledge of their existence had been confined strictly to vague rumors amongst all but the most trustworthy of their associates. The government had barely heard of them, and were still trying to explain several incidents that the Cohorts had caused.
They gathered up again in an alley a few blocks away from the main landing platforms in the city, where the ship full of reinforcements was supposed to be arriving shortly. Faeren led his troops to meet Tenzin and his team, who were waiting with several boxes full of replicated or stolen uniforms that were nearly identical to the ones the soldiers on the ship would be wearing. As the uniforms were passed out among those who would need them, Faeren went over the plan again.
"Alright, first unit is lead by me, Tenzin, and Finch. We take our small group, sneak on the ship as it passes the first gate. Tenzin, you've got the layout of the ship, right?" Faeren looked to his brother, who nodded. "Know it by heart, got our path laid out," Tenzin replied. Faeren bobbed his head. "Good. Right then. We head up to the helm and take out whoever's controlling the ship, then make an announcement that we've got some difficulties and need to land immediately. We give you all a chance to jump on board, go and secure the rest of the soldiers, and then cut connections and zip off before they can blink."

Finch, once the uniforms had arrived acquired hers and put it on. Once she had finished getting dressed, she looked at Tenzin. “Lead the way then.” It was time, the drum of war was calling her name, and a fire brewed in her eyes.
“Alright! The rest of you! Capture an area for us to land in and make sure no one is in the damn area!” She snapped pointing off. “Once you secure the area, pop some smoke and wave us in.” The grunts ran off together, all dressed in uniform, ready to close off an area for them to land the ship. It wouldn’t be long until they had a large enough area. Not that it was hard, when people saw government types they shut themselves in and hid themselves away. With as many secret projects that the government had going at any one time, the amount of guards wasn’t all that unusual. In fact, it happened regularly and so nothing about that was special.
The troop transport ship, was larger than normal, in fact it looked more like a cargo ship. There was no doubt a lot of soldiers were inside, but it was certainly not just a troop transporter. When Finch laid her eyes on it, she smirked. What could be inside, she wondered. She would find out eventually. For now they would jump aboard as it came into land. She guessed there would be a while of refuelling, amongst an inspection or two. They had plenty of time to slip aboard.

Faeren and Tenzin strode along beside Finch, doing a very good job of looking like they knew what they were doing. The twins had a knack for adjusting to any situation, and making it seem like they belonged somewhere even if they didn't. They slipped over the fences of the first gate with ease, and headed to where the ship was being authorized entrance to the army facilities. They had no trouble blending into the flurry of activity and soon enough Tenzin had found a way onto the ship that wasn't guarded. After a tight squeeze and a short crawl, they were in a dimly lit hallway, surrounded by walls of grey metal.
Tenzin paused to look at the plans for the ship that he had managed to find on the black market. The papers were a little outdated, but not much had been changed in the overall arrangement of this model of ship. He looked to the left, to the right, and then trotted off down the hallway, motioning for his companions to follow. Soon they found themselves nearing the control room, and Tenzin slowed. He waved, signaling that there were two guards outside the wide doorway. Faeren's eyes glinted, and he edged forward, ready to do his part of the job. He and his brother both took out their guns, and exchanged a glance. Then, out of nowhere, he and Tenzin leaped in unison, grabbing the guards from behind and knocking them both on the heads with the handles of their guns. The two guards slumped to the ground, and the twins carried them back around the corner and out of sight. "Door's clear, sir," Faeren whispered as he and Tenzin returned to Finch's side, a small smile on his face.

Finch had a look of pride about her as she watched her most trusted men give her access to the ships control room. She had followed them carefully, and had allowed them their chance to step up to the plate once again. She wondered whether she should give them a bonus as she walked inside the cockpit to find the pilot busy reading through the manifest. She reached around from behind and placed her hand over the pilot’s mouth and nose, suffocating him to unconsciousness, before sitting him in the co-pilots chair. “Tenzin, tie him up, and gag him, then put him in that pilot’s bed. We’ll need him later. He’ll have information on where this shipment came from, not to mention its objective. She then sat in the pilot’s seat, and placed on the headset.
“This is Sukilti Gate Command, you are cleared to move on, have a nice trip.” A voice on the communication system said calmly. Finch had been trained to pilot ships from someone in her life a long time ago, and thus easily made the ship move. She held the controls and went through the opened gate and then moved higher above the city. She peered over to the navigational display, telling her to go directly to the main government building in the distance. It was a large fortress like building, with a hole in the wall to allow ships to dock directly inside, but she wasn’t going there just yet. Grey smoke stared to rise up from the city in an old abandoned market place, long since void of money and banter.
“Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen, this is your pilot speaking, I’m currently experiencing trouble with the port side engines and I am required by legislation to land immediately. Please vacate the ship as soon as we touch down in an orderly fashion and move at least three hundred yards away, thank you.” Finch said in the most proper voice possible, as she flicked the port side engine off, causing the ship to bank off to one side. She flicked it back on, causing the ship to level off. She pushed the ship controls down and they swooped low over buildings, clipping an abandoned house just to back up what she said. They landed with a harsh bump. Before they knew it, the soldiers were filing out of the ship and into the empty market, that wasn’t so empty. Finch then turned the ship off and looked to the others. “We can either stay in the ship or weed out whatever’s left of them, or we can go out and join the fight. Your choice!”

Faeren pondered this, and Tenzin frowned a little. "Someone should probably stay here and keep anyone from regaining control of the ship," said the second twin, and his brother nodded. "We'll stand guard, hold down the fort, you go and make sure everything's running smoothly, awlright?" Faeren suggested, grinning at Finch. Both the twins were rather cheery all the time, but Faeren in particular had a talent for staying lighthearted and joking in even the most serious situations. Tenzin nodded in agreement to his brother's proposition, and gripped his gun. "Yes, we'll keep in under control here, sir." Even though, really both twins were very curious about what was going on outside...
A friend of theirs - a mad scientist of sorts - had concocted a special sort of grenade for them. When thrown into a crowd of enemies, it would release a special gas that made anyone who inhaled it rather blurry eyed and confused, and eventually they would pass out. The Cohorts who had been waiting in the marketplace were all armed with these little gas bombs and special face masks so that they would not succumb to it's effects. When the soldiers all rushed out of the ship, the renegade troops were quick to hurl their grenades and watch as all the government soldiers dropped like flies. In a swift and efficient fashion, the Cohorts swarmed over their fallen enemies and quickly rid them of their weapons and uniforms, and bound their hands and gagged their mouths. When the government soldiers began to wake up again, they found themselves in a captive situation, being led back onto their own ship as prisoners of the Zakra Cohorts.

“Fair enough, boys, I’ll leave you to it.” She said simply, before walking through the ship. By now the cohorts were already dragging the soldiers into the corridors, filling them up. In a small storage room the piled up the uniforms and in another the weapons. The uniforms would make quite a price on the black market. Hell, she bet the weapons would too, but they needed to stock their armour, not to mention the ammo they would have got. She took time to examine her prisoners, before heading into the cargo hold. She needed to know what was down there. This ship was too big for just some soldiers. She pressed the intercom and spoke to the cockpit.
“Faeren, Tenzin, you’re relieved, get some of the cohorts to guard the cockpit and get your asses down here. I think there is something you need to see.”
Finch turned around to look out into the cargo hold. It was bigger than it should have been, probably why the plans had changed. Cargo boxes galore stacked up against the ceiling and as Finch opened one she saw ammo packs of varying types. These weren’t for security purposes; these were for waging a war. She opened another container, revealing guns. They were getting ready for something big. It was making her feel nervous. That’s why the soldiers were armed on the ship. They weren’t a guard force; they were the first of more soldiers to come. Something told her all-out war was coming. She knew it would come one day; she had been planning for this eventuality. It was time the cohorts left the city and built up their stronghold. The biggest of the cargo boxes reached from the floor to the ceiling and took up half of the room. As she opened a side panel, she realised what was inside and slowly smirked. “Tanks.” She smirked, removing the rest of the panels. “Disassembled tanks, but tanks all the same. Oh we have struck gold.” Inwardly she was still worried, but on the whole, she was more satisfied at what they had stolen. Would they even need to go into the building now? It was a shame, but they had to. It would have been much easier fleeing with the loot, but they still had an objective.

Faeren and Tenzin were quick to respond, making their way down to meet Finch in the cargo hold. Both were wide eyed and excited as they realized what they had happened to acquire. Slowly they turned their attention to Finch, and Tenzin piped up, "So... Finch, what now? Do we make off with all these goods or still try to infiltrate the base? It'll be harder to make off with all this once we're right in the middle of the government base..."
Faeren frowned, and both twins considered the pros and cons of each option as they waited for Finch to speak. If they left now, they would gain a huge ship full of wonderful weapons and supplies, but they probably wouldn't find another chance as perfect as this to infiltrate the enemy base. "We need to figure out a careful plan, either way, and we need to do it fast," Tenzin said, looking very serious.

“I have an idea. We’ll continue with the idea that we had a malfunction. We’ll say that we had to leave some of the troops behind with the ship, due to security, to make up for the lack of numbers. We’ll get some of the cohorts to then fly to the location of our new base once we’re inside, and then blast our way out. I had an idea that this might happen one day, I’ve been planning for this.” Finch paused for a little, realising how that must sound. “I must apologise for not telling you, but only one other person knows about my plans, and that is the person who organised a location for our new base. I’ll give you more details when we get there, but for now, we should go get the team ready to move out on foot, make sure they’re aware of how to move in formation.” Finch didn’t like not being forthright with her cohorts, but moving the base was rather a big step, and she wasn’t sure they’d go for it. She also didn’t want to scare them into fleeing.
“Uhm, Tenzin, you go do that, Faeren, come with me; I need to give plans to the remaining cohorts. We still need to figure out something to do with the soldiers. Perhaps we’ll detain them until; we’ve finished and then pawn them off to some slavers.” She got a sort of revenge fuelled kick out of putting the government soldiers into slavery. She didn’t know quite why, but it was enthralling. She began to walk out of the cargo room. This was better than any stash of gold.

Faeren and Tenzin both nodded. "We understand, sir. The less people who now about such secret important things, the better. We trust you had your reasons," Faeren replied, once again displaying the distinct level of calmness both twins exhibited in even the most stressful situations. "We're pretty good at adapting," Tenzin added, smiling a little. They both listened as she gave them tasks, and headed off after their leader.
Tenzin went about gathering up the Cohorts that would be heading into the enemy base, quickly giving them a rundown of the plan, and instructing them on how to behave. "If anything goes wrong and we're found out, just try your hardest not to get killed or captured. We need to keep them believing we're part of their new recruits for as long as possible, so we can gather information, until we can make a clean escape," he explained. "It would be better if they never knew we were intruders, and it's ideal if they don't figure it out until after we're gone."
Tenzin glanced around, looking at all the grim faces of his comrades. "Alright, all ready? Finch will be here soon to lead us out. The best advice I can give you is just act like you belong, take cues from other soldiers on how to behave, and speak as little as possible."
